Episode V (The Empire Strikes Back) is agreed to be (with very little exception) the greatest (Star Wars) film ever made. What do you think contributes the most to this being the case?

• The split narrative between Luke's training and the rest of our heroes~
• Han and Leia's relationship, and how it develops over the course of the film~
• The whole opening Hoth sequence really sets the pace and quality of the movie early~
• As the Empire's movie, it gives its primary villains (Boba Fett and Darth Vader) real space to shine, ending with our heroes losing in almost every way~
• "No... I am your father."~
• Irvin Kershner directing instead of George Lucas~
