- Point down, because the risk of injuring myself when reaching around for other dishes is too great.~
- Point down, so the knife blade doesn't accidentally touch something else / gets better cleaned in the dishwasher.~
- Point up, to avoid dulling the point of the knife.~
- Point up, so the water doesn't collect on the blade and cause it to rust.~
- I do it differently depending on if it's the dishwasher or the dish strainer.~
